Did you know that of the four Japanese motorcycle manufactures, only Honda was formed with the intention of manufacturing motorcycles.  Suzuki started by manufacturing weaving looms, Yamaha started by making pianos and Kawasaki originally made heavy equipment for the war effort.  As a side note Toyota was founded as a sewing machine company.
